Jamie Foxx suffered a stroke last month, according to former professional boxer Mike Tyson.
Oscar-winning actor Jamie was rushed to hospital after experiencing a “medical complication” while filming his upcoming Netflix movie, Back in Action.
The 55-year-old has since been discharged from hospital, with his daughter Corinne Foxx being seen by her father’s side as he continues to recover at a physical rehabilitation facility.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Valuetainment podcast, Mike gave an update on his friend.
“He’s not feeling well. They said a stroke. I have no idea what happened to him.”
Jamie’s family are yet to reveal what happened to the star.
Jamie was set to portray Mike in the boxing legend’s upcoming biographical TV series.
Mike, Jamie, Martin Scorsese and Antoine Fuqua would be the executive producers for the show.
When asked what would be happening with the show following Jamie’s health struggles, Mike said: “Well, it was a possibility. I don’t know what’s going to happen now. But, you know, it’s a strong possibility.”
He also suggested a reason as to why fans have not been given many updates on Jamie’s condition.
“If we don’t know by now, they don’t want us to know,” he said.
Jamie is said to have arrived at a physical rehabilitation facility in Chicago in late April, after originally getting treatment in an Atlanta hospital.
A source told TMZ that the actor is now “recovering well”.
Announcing the news that her father has left hospital, Corinne wrote on Instagram : “My dad has has been out of the hospital for weeks recuperating.
“In fact, he was playing pickelball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support,” Corinne added. “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
