Jadis’ The Walking Dead future after her return in the upcoming spinoff series The Ones Who Live is addressed by actor Pollyanna McIntosh. She made an indelible impression with her appearances on the TWD flagship show, providing a link to the series’ long-simmering helicopter mystery. The enigmatic Jadis (aka Anne) later returned for The Walking Dead: World Beyond, as the universe built out its CRM storyline, and now she’s set to come back again in the highly-anticipated Rick & Michonne spinoff show.
It’s yet to be seen if Jadis will have a future in the ongoing TWD universe, but McIntosh did tease the possibility of more appearances in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant ahead of the release of her new movie Double Blind. Check out the Ones Who Live star’s remarks below:
I’m told very much that The World Beyond is done and completed. But with The Walking Dead universe, you never know, because I think Scott’s been really inventive in the creations that have come since their flagship ended. You just never know, we could have all sorts of fun, I could make myself a Zimmer frame from the older bits of the junkyard, and just keep going.
The Ones Who Live Can Give Jadis/Anne A Satisfying End
Initially revealed as the leader of the bizarre junkyard group in The Walking Dead season 7, Jadis later proved to be much more than just a post-apocalyptic survivor with a love of bizarre performance art. Her final appearance in season 9 saw her delivering Rick to the TWD‘s CRM group, ripping him away from Michonne, Daryl and the rest of his friends in a truly wrenching fashion.
The Ones Who Live has not yet been renewed for a second season.
Jadis’ return to World Beyond proved to be something of a tease, as that show provided a lead-in to future spinoffs. The Ones Who Lives’ recently released last trailer showed Jadis fully flowering as a soldier with the CRM, alongside the show’s big new character, Major General Beale (Terry O’Quinn).
It seems Jadis is being set up to meet her demise, possibly at the hands of Rick and/or Michonne. McIntosh is, of course, giving nothing away in her pre-release remarks, but The Ones Who Live feels like a natural place to give her character a memorable sendoff. Given the nature of the TWD universe, that sendoff could prove to be very sudden, violent and gory. Perhaps it will also be, ultimately, redemptive.
