His protégé and acquaintance Francis Ngannou took on WBC champion Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ngannou almost defeated the WBC heavyweight champion.
The Riyadh season multi-sporting event saw the lavish promotion of the bout by multiple personalities. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia itself imparted its input as well. The venue is notoriously famed for hosting combative sports events and player galas. It even has a contractual agreement with UFC for the promotion to perform thrice a year. Now, Tyson has opened a boxing gym in Riyadh, a day after the match. Taking to X, he wrote:

Turki Al-Sheikh, who heads the Riyadh Season, shared an update via his Instagram account. He said:

The online footage commences with close-ups of the various facilities, pieces of equipment, and multiple rings available at the gym. New and old classic photos of Tyson feature on the lining of the walls. Boxing and MMA legends like Chuck Liddell, Junior Dos Santos, Larry Holmes, and Evander Holyfield also joined.
The fight was part of an initiative by Turki Al-Sheikh, to make Saudi Arabia a hub for major sporting events. As part of the same initiative, it was announced earlier this year that the world’s first “Mike Tyson boxing gym” will launch in Riyadh. The Saudi officials partnered with award-winning boxing trainer Joe Gallagher to oversee the gym. The gym holds the record of him and Tyson together.

This month saw the hyped-up bout between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. The lineal heavyweight champion is a whole brand name on his own. Working under managed camp monikers “Goldstar” and “Gypsy King,” he had made his success into an enterprising venture. Fury is also the owner of “Furocity,”‘ a branded energy drink. He also collaborated with many combative sports outlets and gymnasiums. He runs his gym with his father, John Fury.
Amidst all these, Mike Tyson opened up his boxing gym in Riyadh. Fury himself runs a successful camp and gym of his own. It is operated by Tommy Fury, his father, Andy Lee, Brendon Lyons, Isaac Lowe, and Tim Alcock as camp logistic head. The news of Tyson opening up his own boxing gym has generated notable fan reactions. One of them has an adhering meme template that saw people flocking to Tyson’s new gym instead of that of Fury’s father’s. Tyson was in Ngannou’s corner for the matchup and has crossed paths with the duo.
The boxer’s father and Tyson had been locked in a duel of their own. The former called Tyson in between the promotion of his son’s matchup. Fury competed in pro boxing from 1987-1995, with 8 out of 13 wins.
