John Wick is “happy” in a new piece of AI-generated art that actually just makes the assassin more deadly. The first movie in 2014 introduces Keanu Reeves as the titular hitman, chronicling his quest for revenge after the murder of his puppy. The film became something of a surprise hit and spawned a successful franchise, with John Wick: Chapter 4 hitting theaters earlier this year.
Now, as audiences await news on John Wick 5, AI-generated art shared by Neo X on X, formerly known as Twitter, imagines Reeves’ assassin with all the ingredients necessary for a happy life. Check out the image below:
The image features Wick, sporting a very flashy suit, content in life with a puppy, a sports car, and a pencil, a weapon he uses to devastating effect in John Wick: Chapter 2.
What’s Next For The John Wick Franchise?
The fourth installment in the long-running action franchise was a major hit, reaching new heights for the series critically and commercially. Despite this, however, the future of the franchise remains somewhat up in the air. John Wick: Chapter 4‘s ending features Wick seemingly succumbing to his wounds, but there remains a hint of ambiguity regarding whether he is truly dead.
For his part, Reeves, according to franchise producer Basil Iwanyk, wanted Wick’s death to be definitive in the latest sequel, a result of these movies being incredibly physically taxing to make. Director Chad Stahelski, however, who has helmed every installment in the franchise, has been more open-ended about whether the franchise could continue, revealing that he and Reeves would both return for John Wick 5, but only if they can find a story worth telling.
Lionsgate executive Joe Drake recently confirmed that a John Wick 5 script is being written, and the quality of this script will seemingly determine whether Reeves and Stahelski return.
Outside of the main saga, the John Wick universe is set to further expand whether Reeves returns or not. After the release of The Continental this past fall, a spinoff movie called Ballerina, which stars Ana de Armas, is slated to release next year. It’s likely that additional spinoffs focusing on other characters are also in the works, with the latest sequel introducing figures like Caine (Donnie Yen), Akira (Rina Sawayama), and Tracker (Shamier Anderson), all of whom seem ripe for further exploration.
