A new trailer for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live episode 5 hints at what’s next for Rick and Michonne’s escape from the CRM. Episode 4 saw Michonne finally break through Rick’s fearful mindset, convincing him that they should return home to Alexandria. Taking a car from an abandoned hotel, they escape, with the CRM likely thinking they’re dead due to a helicopter crash.
Now, The Walking Dead (via WotNot) has released a trailer for episode 5, showing what to expect for The Ones Who Live‘s upcoming episode.
The trailer sees Rick and Michonne taking up sanctuary in a cabin and encountering hard-to-kill zombies and unknown survivors. After a clip of the pair almost being run off the road by someone, Michonne now seems to think they can’t go back home anymore.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live brings back Rick Grimes and Michonne for yet another zombie spinoff, but the episode count isn’t a big one.
Rick & Michonne’s CRM Escape Might Be Harder Than They Think
Episode 4 provided Rick and Michonne with the perfect opportunity to escape the CRM, with their helicopter crashing into a building after they’d already jumped out. The militarized organization also destroyed the wreckage to leave no trace behind, meaning it would be hard to determine how many people were aboard when it crashed. With Rick and Michonne now on the road, it seems like they have a clean getaway from the organization.
However, the CRM is a powerful group, meaning they could have some way of determining how many people were really on the helicopter when it crashed. Alongside this, Jadis might have her suspicions about Rick and Michonne’s ability to survive, perhaps going rogue to ensure they’re dead. The trailer also hints at the pair coming across two new survivors who are possibly housing their own connections to the group.
Since Rick and Michonne don’t want the CRM finding Alexandria, thus killing all the people they care about, episode 5 may force them to act on the offensive against the group. With mysteries like the Echelon briefing still unclear despite their escape, The Ones Who Live may be setting up a big story twist that would force the pair to return. With only two episodes left, though, it’s unclear if they’ll truly be able to get home, or if their story will have a different ending.
