SNW will be the most prominent Star Trek live-action series.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 is hotly anticipated, especially after Strange New Worlds season 2 ended with a cliffhanger involving the Gorn fans are champing at the bit to see resolved. However, by the time Strange New Worlds returns for season 3, the prequel series about the Starship Enterprise officially becomes the flagship of Star Trek on Paramount+. Star Trek: Discovery ends with season 5 in 2024, leaving Strange New Worlds as the biggest and most popular live-action Star Trek series on the streamer.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, believed to be a spinoff of Star Trek: Discovery, is in development for a planned 2025 premiere, so it will be the second live-action Star Trek series on Paramount+ next year. However, Strange New Worlds is already a bona fide hit with Star Trek fans and has been lauded by mainstream publications and audiences. With no evidence that Star Trek: Picard season 3 will get its proposed spinoff, dubbed Star Trek: Legacy, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will be the Star Trek show when season 3 premieres.
