Following a six-season series regular spot on Fox’s now-canceled medical drama The Resident, Manish Dayal has found his next major TV project in the form of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2. According to Deadline, Dayal has been tapped to portray a major recurring role in the next installment to The Walking Dead spin-off called The Book of Carol.
Dayal is expected to play the role of an engineer from Boston named Ash. According to his official character description, he moved to the family weekend house in Maine after the onset of the apocalypse. Ash lives by a strict schedule, based around his daily flights in a retrofitted single engine plane and mysterious visitations to his backyard greenhouse.
His casting comes after SAG-AFTRA recently announced the official end of its 118-day-long actors strike. Production on the Daryl Dixon Season 2 is currently underway in Europe.

As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”
