Philadelphia Flyers prospects Oliver Bonk and Denver Barkey are set for the London Knights’ second game of the CHL Memorial Cup against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The Knights got off to an ideal start against the Drummondville Voltigeurs (where fellow Flyers prospect Alexis Gendron plays), defeating the QMJHL champions 4-0, where Bonk recorded a goal.
Both Bonk and Barkey have been key members of the Knights’ postseason dominance, helping their team to an OHL championship, sweeping the Oshawa Generals in a series of commanding offensive performances where the Knights scored 31 goals across the four-game championship series.
Flyers fans have been keeping close tabs on the pair, and although GM Danny Briere said that the front office is expecting both players to spend one more year in the OHL, the pair have already made positive impressions with their brief stints in development camps.
Both players have signed their entry-level contracts, and could become more present in the near future as the Flyers look to build up the chemistry in their young core.
