Sunday’s Red Sox-Cardinals game isn’t on NESN — and it’s not available on any traditional TV channel. In fact, it’s the first-ever MLB game on the league’s newest streaming partner.

The game will air exclusively on Roku, which got into the MLB streaming game with a $30 million contract earlier this week. Fans don’t need a Roku device to stream the game, which is free on the service. But it’s still the only way to watch Sunday’s series finale from Busch Stadium.
According to MLB.com, fans with a Roku device can “access the game via the Sports section on your home screen menu. You can also input ‘MLB Leadoff’ in the Search section.” Fans without a Roku device can “download The Roku Channel app, which is free and available on Amazon Fire devices, Samsung TVs and Google TVs” or watch the game on therokuchannel.com, with no login required.
Viewers looking to purchase Roku devices for under $50 can do so online at Roku or Amazon.
First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. ET with righty Nick Pivetta on the mound for the Red Sox against left-hander Matthew Liberatore. The broadcast crew will consist of Chip Caray (play-by-play), Will Middlebrooks (analyst) and Alexa Datt (reporter).

Roku will carry Major League Baseball games on Sundays beginning this week, and viewers will be able to watch for free and not be required to use a Roku device, the streaming service announced Monday.
Roku secured multiyear rights for MLB Sunday Leadoff games beginning with the Boston Red Sox at St. Louis Cardinals this Sunday. The telecasts will be produced in collaboration with local broadcast teams. They previously were available through the subscription service Peacock.
