Jess Bush is definitely back as Nurse Christine Chapel in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3, as she announced on social media. Strange New Worlds season 3 production was supposed to start last May but was delayed due to the Writer’s Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes. With the picketing now over, cast and crew have converged in Toronto, and Strange New Worlds season 3 filming officially began on Monday, December 11th.
On her Instagram Stories, Jess Bush (@onejessa) shared a short video of herself back in Toronto, and she is wearing a new winter hat with the Starfleet logo surrounded by “Strange New Worlds season 3.” Amusingly, Jess’ new beanie also calls back to a similar black Starfleet hat Nurse Christine Chapel’s ex-beau, Lt. Spock (Ethan Peck), wore in the Strange New Worlds season 2 episode, “Charades.” Check out screen grabs of Jess Bush’s Instagram Story and her new hat below:
Thanks to her Star Trek association, Jess Bush also collaborates with NASA and Redwire Corporation and has been a guest at the Kennedy Space Center.
Star Trek Should Release Strange New Worlds Season 3 In 2 Parts
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 is in production, and Paramount+ should release the new episodes ASAP rather than drop them all in 2025.
What To Expect From Nurse Chapel In Strange New Worlds Season 3
Is Chapel leaving the Starship Enterprise?
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2’s cliffhanger ending left a lot of unanswered questions, especially where Nurse Christine Chapel is concerned. Chapel broke off her relationship with Lt. Spock, and declared “I’m ready” to pursue different dreams in Star Trek’s first-ever musical episode, “Subspace Rhapsody.” Indeed, Christine left the USS Enterprise to join an internship in archeological medicine with Dr. Roger Korby, but Chapel had the misfortune to be aboard the USS Cayuga when the Gorn attacked Parnassus Beta and destroyed the starship. Spock mounted a rescue and together, they defeated a Gorn and returned to the Starship Enterprise, which was still in danger.
In Star Trek: The Original Series canon, Dr. Roger Korby is Nurse Christine Chapel’s future fiancé.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3’s currently in-production premiere will pick up where season 2’s cliffhanger left off. Captain Marie Batel (Melanie Scrofano) has been infected with Gorn eggs and is under Nurse Chapel’s care while her life is in danger. Meanwhile, Starfleet ordered Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) to retreat while members of the USS Enterprise’s crew have been kidnapped by the Gorn. It remains to be seen what happens next to Nurse Chapel once the Gorn crisis is resolved, but it’s certain Jess Bush will remain among the most popular actors in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ stellar cast.
