Star Trek: Insurrection Finally Took Riker & Troi’s Romance To The Next Level
Riker & Troi Married In Star Trek: Nemesis
Soon after Riker and Troi were both introduced in the premiere episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, it was established that the two had previously been in a romantic relationship on Deanna’s home world of Betazed. While they danced around one another throughout TNG’s seven seasons, they never officially got back together. Although Riker and Troi dated other people over the course of TNG, they remained good friends. Star Trek: Insurrection finally pulled the trigger on Riker and Troi becoming a couple once again.
As Will and Deanna spent more time in the Briar Patch, they began behaving like their younger selves, rekindling a romance many years in the making. From the very beginning, it was clear that Riker and Troi cared deeply about one another, and Star Trek: Insurrection finally brought them back together. Although they went through some ups and downs over the years, Riker and Troi remained together thirty years later in Star Trek: Picard, cementing their relationship as one of Star Trek’s best romances.
